The Biggest Loser and ReFit – the perfect team!
What started in the U.S has now spread all over the globe reaching the United Kingdom, Australia, Brazil, Brunei, Germany, Hungary, India, Israel, Mexico, the Netherlands, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, Ukraine, and more. “The Biggest Loser”, the extraordinarily popular television show that revolves around overweight contestants competing to lose the most weight, offering winners a grand cash prize, although contestants say the real prize is the new life and self-awareness they acquire.
The weight-loss reality show is all about records. In past seasons of the original U.S version, new benchmarks were repeatedly set: heaviest contestant (454, 476 and 526 pounds), fastest 100-pound weight loss (seven weeks), and most weight lost in one week (34 pounds).
How do they do it? Contestants work out five to six hours a day, eating strictly supervised diets. This allows them to routinely drop double-digit pounds each week, leaving the contestant who loses the smallest percentage of body weight to be sent home – in most cases, with a new found motivation to continue on their weight loss journey.
The show took on a mission to combat the obesity epidemic around the world by showing contestants and viewers an alternative of taking control of your weight. While body mass index (BMI) can be reduced there are some aspects of rapid weight loss that are a bit more problematic: Sagging body skin: Rapid weight loss more than often leaves one’s body with excess skin which does not remodulate and firm up. This is usually most apparent around the under-arm, tummy, thighs and neck, leaving an unfinished look to a highly motivated weight loss success.
Refit , powered by Reaction, is the newest concept from Viora to treat excess skin after extreme weight loss, whether that loss is by diet, exercise, surgical intervention or childbirth. Refit utilizes four modes of non invasive radiofrequency (RF) targeting different tissue depths accompanied by vacuum therapy to ensure deeper heat penetration. This restores collagen flexibility while improving the skin’s firmness and elasticity- achieving an overall body contouring effect.

E.G., a 33 years old mother of 2, recent finalist on a Israeli version of “The Biggest Loser”, and a ReFit patient speaks about her experience:
“I was always overweight growing up and always thought of myself as overweight. Being a contestant of The Biggest Loser was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I lost 42kg in 9 months and went from an overweight mother to one who was fit, in shape, caring about exercise, nutrition and the importance this has in my life. The trainers were incredible and helped me at every step. They identified my weaknesses and helped me change the way I thought about everything, food, working out, how I view myself in the mirror, etc. They gave me the tools to continue this lifestyle on my own.
Everything is easier now – it’s changed everything about how I think about myself and my relations with others, especially my children. I would not have been able to do it without The Biggest Loser. It took me about 14 months from start to finish to lose around 52kg. I’ve gained about 7-8 kilograms back in the following year but since then I’ve been keeping the weight off.
From all the yo-yo diets in the past, and from my recent pregnancy with my son, my body was a mess. I did some research on what was available out there and I was ready for the next challenge!
I had treatments on my underarms and stomach – each area took 20min each session. After only four treatments the results are great and I’m excited as to how ReFit will change my life. I’ve seen a real difference in the loose skin on my stomach and arms. These areas look smoother and firmer.”

November is National Healthy Skin Month!
It’s the first thing we see or touch, it covers us all from head to toe and shields us from the outside world – our SKIN.

The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) implemented November as Healthy Skin Month in order to raise awareness about the importance of keeping skin fresh, hydrated and healthy all year round.
All month long, people are encouraged to learn about the functions of skin and how to keep it healthy and looking good.
Understanding how the skin functions starts with understanding the structure of the three layers of skin – the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue.
The epidermis is the outer most layer of skin and contains five layers. The top layer of the epidermis, the stratum corneum, is made of dead, flat skin cells that shed about every two weeks.

The next layer is the dermis made up of Connective tissue that supports the epidermis, providing nutrients and protecting it.
The lower most layer is the subcutaneous tissue. The subcutaneous tissue is a layer of fat and connective tissue that houses larger blood vessels and nerves. This layer is important in the regulation of temperature of the skin itself and the body. The size of this layer varies throughout the body and from person to person.
Each of these layers plays an important role in the way our skin functions and looks. As a result, any breakdown in one of our skins layers causes various skin issues that we are all familiar with; be it acne, wrinkles and even good old aging.

Permanent Solution to Cellulite?
Unfortunately for over 85% women with cellulite, the answer is no, there’s no permanent solution. But Viora is working hard to provide a solution in this fat fight!

A Doctor’s thoughts on Reaction by Viora
In the May/June 2011 issue of MedEsthetics, Dr. Daniel Man of Boca Raton, FL, had some interesting words to say about his observations regarding Reaction. ” The improvement may not be as great as with liposuction, but it is visible after the first treatment,” says Dr. Man, “and it builds with subsequent treatments. We’ve used [the Viora] with many patients and can report an 85% satisfaction rate. The procedure isn’t that expensive and it produces results. You can decrease fat, tighten skin, improve cellulite and decrease existing scars.”

American Health & Beauty- Reaction Reducing Cellulite Around the World
Viora’s Reaction™ is in action around the world! At the recent annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), American Health & Beauty Editor Keith Veseleny met Dr. Mario Fuks, a dermatologist from Argentina to discuss his results using the leading body contouring and cellulite reduction device.
Skin tightening, cellulite reduction, and facial contouring are all possible with just one easy to use machine, the Reaction by Viora. This device uses a fully customizable range of radio frequency (RF) energy to reduce fat deposits and tighten skin. At the recent annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), American Health & Beauty Editor Keith Veseleny sat down with Dr. Mario Fuks, a dermatologist who uses the Reaction in his Argentine office.
“It’s an excellent machine for cellulite, very easy to use, and the results are amazing,” says Dr. Fuks. “It’s a very powerful system for skin tightening, and you get noticeable results after just one treatment.” Dr. Fuks said that he is shocked by not only the power of the machine, but how swiftly he’s able to acheive results. “I was surprised at how quickly I was able to reach the optimal temperature for treating cellulite. It’s much faster than other comparable systems.”
Dr. Fuks is also impressed with the applicator tip, which is small enough to treat areas other devices can’t. “The skin tightening applicator is very good because of its size, and I can use it around the eyes,” says Dr. Fuks. “I’m very surprised at the results I’ve been getting. Reaction by Viora is very good for treating small areas that you cannot treat with other devices.”
While he purchased the Reaction by Viora as a supplement to other technologies already in his office, Dr. Fuks says that he has found himself using the Reaction more and more in place of other devices. He also says that this is an ideal machine for aesthetic practices or medical spas who are just starting out. “I would recommend the Viora to a new office. It’s a very powerful system and it brings a lot of opportunity for skin tightening and body contouring. It is a top of the line system.”
